About The Quilted Kittens

The Quilted Kittens are sisters, Sandy and Gretchen. They come from a long line of quilters as far back as their great-grandmother, Granny, their grandmother, Lucy May, and their mother, Kit.

Sandy is an expert hand-quilter able to make those coveted little stitches so well rewarded by quilt judges. Sandy teaches hand and machine quilting at her local quilt shop. She has won many awards for her hand quilting at regional quilt shows, the San Joaquin County Fair, and the California State Fair. These awards include several first places and a "Best of Show" at the San Joaquin County Fair. Since there are so many quilt tops and so little time to finish the quilts, Sandy also machine quilts many of her quilts.

Gretchen spends most of her waking hours at the computer. When she is not designing on line education, she is working on the business end of the company. Her technical and business skills provide a good complement to Sandy's creative quilting skills. Gretchen has also learned to quilt. She earned a 3rd place ribbon at the RCQG Quilt show for 1st adult quilt. She is now working on her 8, 9 and 10th quilt. That's right, more than one project at a time.

The Kittenator

Kittenator

The Kittenator is named after our mom, Kit. It is attached to a 12' frame. The computer monitor is located at one end as seen in the photo. We can work on either side of the frame but most of the work is done on the "front" side of the frame with the head of the machine facing the user.
