Ordering Information

To hire The Quilted Kittens to quilt your project, please send us an initial email and include subject in the subject line. We will contact you by phone or email, whichever you prefer, for a consultation.

During this consultation, we will discuss what you would like to achieve with the final product.

• What is the purpose of the quilt?
• Describe the quilt.
• How big is the quilt?
• Do you have a pattern in mind, or would you like to discuss?
• What color thread would you like
• Will you provide your own batting, or would you like to puchase through The Quilted Kittens?
• When will you need the quilt - what is the current turnaround time for completion?
• Do you want to meet to drop of the quilt or will you be shipping?

When the initial consultation is completed, arrangements will be made for pick-up or shipping. It is important that the quilt be prepared to help insure successful quilting. Read the Quilt Preparation Instructions for proper quilt preparation.

When The Quilted Kittens receives the quilt, we will contact you before and during the quilting process if we have any questions. If the completion date is later than originally stated, we will contact you immediately.

Upon completion of the quilt, arrangements will be made to return the quilt. If the quilt is hand delivered, payment is due at time of delivery. If the quilt is to be shipped, shipping will occur once payment is received. For more shipping information, see the Shipping Instructions section below.

The Quilted Kittens will do the final measurement to determine the cost of the quilting. There will be a sales tax assessed for all products/quilting based on the current and local sales tax rates (as of July, 2011, the rate is 8%.)   An invoice will be included with the quilt whether hand delivered or shipped. The invoice will include all charges related to the project such as additional charge for batting, specialty thread, or other services. See the Price List for specific costs of services.

There is a minimum quilting fee of $50.00 - not including tax.

Shipping Instructions

For our customers who ship their quilts to The Quilted Kittens, please read the following important information.

• Contact us prior to shipping your quilt. This allows us to provide you an estimated completion date. In addition, we will know when to expect your quilt’s arrival.

• Review the Quilt Preparation Instructions on this page.

• Complete the Work Order Form and print two copies. Include one copy with your quilt when shipping and keep the other for your records.

• Never mark the box your quilt is shipped in with the word “quilt”. Please address the box to Sandy Ross. Do not use the word “quilt” in the shipping address line. Quilts are valuable and this will reduce the risk of your quilt being stolen.

• Batting: You may supply the batting, or purchase from us. We stock Warm and Natural and Warm and White from the Warm Company. If you wish to provide your own batting, please mention this during the initial consultation. The Quilted Kittens have found that not all batting types work with the quilting equipment so this should be addressed prior to sending the quilt.

• Put the quilt, back, and batting in a heavy duty ziplock “big bag”. Make sure your bag and box are large enough to return the completed quilt.

• The Quilted Kittens will contact you when we receive your quilt. At this time we can discuss any other questions you may have.

• Your quilt will be neatly folded and protected from sunlight and dust until it is serviced.

• When your quilt is completed, you will receive an email with the completed invoice, including return shipping and insurance costs.

• If you want your completed quilt insured for return shipping, advise us of the amount so this may be included on your invoice.

• If you want your quilt shipped via a specific carrier, let The Quilted Kittens know during the initial consultation; otherwise, we will ship via UPS.

• Your quilt and any unused materials will be returned, insured, after full payment has been received. Checks should be made payable to The Quilted Kittens.

Note: We will ship to Canada but payment must be made in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Credit/debit card or online payment is not accepted at this time.
